If you already have Diablo installed, uninstall it. to install and play Diablo (either V1.00 or V1.08 or whatever) without the actual cd. You should be able to install - and play - Diablo V1.00.

All that without compromising the unique feel and style of Diablo 1. To play, you'll need the file diabdat.mpq from your Diablo 1 CD, and to download. Also that mpq file in the main diablo directory on the CD, like D2, drop . I never thought I'd be able to play this again, but it came in that D2 battle.

I got curious an hour ago about Diablo 1 as I can't run this (no one can) on a. I was hoping someone could email it to me, or post a link to the file.or post up any experience with a particular file. You won't be able to walk into your local PC shop and purchase a new version of Diablo on CD-ROM. I did the full install, so i thought i loaded all the music, and video files i need, so the cd wouldn't be necessary? exe file, and all i do is stuff it into the game directory, overwriting the retail one, and away i go? do i need to go this complicated a route to accomplish this offline too? there are so many different "no cd" files out there, all in different file forms, and sizes, it is hard to know which to get. I have tried searching the net, and i have downloaded a few so called "no-cd" files, but once unzipped, i find loaders, and other hacks to play on battlenet, without the cd drive. i am using version 1.09 lod expansion pack. So.i was wondering if anyone has any tips for playing diablo2 without the cd inserted in the drive? i do not play online, just single player, offline. I dunno if my cd drive is going flakey, or my retail disc of diablo2 : lord of destruction is beginning to shatter, or what.but the disc/drive area is emitting a horrible high pitched, vibrating sound during play.

After seeing all the diablo 2 threads popping up here, i decided to re install it, and re play an old favorite.which leads me to this:
